Hypnotherapy Practice

As the owner and operator of the Hypnosis Motivation Counseling and Education Company, my full range of services are offered to the general public, licensed private practice therapists, dentists, and physicians.

My client base is diverse, ranging from individuals seeking self-improvement in a wide variety of vocational and avocational areas to referrals from dentists, physicians, and counseling professionals.  Referrals from dentists, physicians, and counseling professionals typically account for approximately 45% of my clients.

In addition to private practice, I work as a Senior Clinical Instructor in White Memorial Medical Center's (WMMC) Craniofacial Pain Clinic, in Los Angeles, California (http://craniofacialclinic.dentistryonline.com), where I teach self-hypnosis techniques and work with medical referrals who suffer with chronic pain.

I also teach an eight hour continuing education class titled Hypnotherapy: Learn Hypnosis and Understand How Hypnotherapy Will Benefit Your Clients.  This class is made available to licensed therapists through the Association for Advanced Training in the Behavioral Sciences (www.aatbs.com).  For 30 years, AATBS has been a leader in the field of offering licensing preparation and continuing education classes to Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, Social Workers, and Psychologists throughout the United States.

Background

My career spans to 1967, when I began teaching self-hypnosis classes at California State University Northridge.  In addition to my private practice, I have lectured and taught classes at colleges, universities and for professional and community groups throughout California.

Experience

In addition to being active in the field of hypnosis for more than 40 years, I have extensive counseling experience through having worked for the Los Angeles County Probation Department for 32 years, before retiring in 2002.

My probation career assignments included but were not limited to:

• Counseling adolescents
• Supervising Deputy Probation Officers providing counseling services to adolescents
• Working as a consultant to the administrators of 21 counseling and treatment programs
• Designing and implementing a ‘model’ counseling program for the Los Angeles County Probation Department, and
• Having administrative responsibility for a 120 bed adolescent counseling and treatment program in Malibu, CA
